Sensually mesmerizing, intricate suspense with many twists, and a number of sub-plots make this Korean film a true study in the art of film.  Camerawork and lighting combine to provide a lavish beauty.

The story is presented in 3 books and differs at times from “Fingersmith” the Sarah Waters book which is the source material.  Acting is presented as an ensemble and they work superbly together.  The music is well chosen and adds to the tone and mood comfortably.

Many believed this to be the best film at Cannes and thought it should have received the Palm D’Or.  Likewise many of the critics and afficianadoes believed this to be the best film at the Chicago International Film Festival.  Do not miss it.  I will expand on this analysis after the commercial release.
